YULE Unleashes The Return of the Silent Knight — A Christmas Rock Album Like No Other
The festive season just got a whole lot louder.
YULE, the Christmas rock concept band making waves across the holiday music landscape, has officially released its debut full-length album, The Return of the Silent Knight — and Ormsaltaren is proud to be part of bringing it to the world.
A Holiday Saga Built on Power Chords and Wonder
The Return of the Silent Knight isn't just another holiday record. It's a full-blown rock opera reimagining of classic Christmas songs, fusing the warmth and nostalgia of the season with the raw power of rock 'n' roll. Think epic arrangements, lush orchestration, and the kind of anthemic energy that makes you want to throw your fist in the air while sipping mulled wine.
At its core, YULE is on a mission: to restore the true spirit of Christmas — loud, magical, and unapologetically epic.
A Stellar Cast of Guest Performers
The album is elevated further by an impressive roster of guest vocalists, each bringing their own fire to the YULE universe:
- Kenny Leckremo (H.E.A.T) — the Swedish melodic rock powerhouse lends his soaring vocals to the album
- Linnéa Vikström Egg (Thundermother) — one of Scandinavia's most dynamic rock voices adds grit and soul
- Will Oaks — contributing his distinctive voice to the mix
- Astrid Humphries — a rising child prodigy whose performance brings a stunning, unexpected dimension to the record
The Architect Behind the Sound
At the heart of YULE stands Michel Santunione — guitarist, songwriter, and producer. Known for his work with Grand Theft Culture among other projects, Santunione is the creative force behind The Return of the Silent Knight, having written all the music on the album and steered its production from start to finish. His vision transforms beloved Christmas melodies into full-scale rock epics, blending cinematic orchestration with hard-hitting arrangements to create something that feels both timeless and entirely new.
Guest Guitarists
Joining Santunione in the studio is an impressive cast of guest guitarists. Jamie Humphries, the album's co-producer, also steps in front of the mic — or rather, the amp — as a featured guitarist. He's joined by Arnau Diaz (The Riven), Sami Chang (Sami), and Mona Lindgren (The Gems), each bringing their own style and flair to the record's six-string arsenal.
Rounding out the lineup is a rock-solid rhythm section: Georg Härnsten Egg (Dynazty) on drums and Olov Domeij (Grand Mojo) on bass — together laying the thunderous foundation that drives the album from start to finish.
Christmas, Reimagined
What sets YULE apart is the ambition. This isn't a casual strum-along-to-the-fireplace affair. The Return of the Silent Knight treats Christmas music the way it deserves to be treated — as mythology, as drama, as something worth going all in on. The result is a collection that feels both deeply familiar and thrillingly new, a record that honours the classics while launching them into entirely new sonic territory.
